District Collector Rajarshi Shah ensured the admission of two out-of-school children during his visit to Indervelli mandal on Tuesday, as part of the district administration’s ef-forts to ensure that every child has access to education.
During the visit, the Collec-tor noticed that two children from the family of Kamre Mallesh Pawar of Sai Nagar in Indervelli were engaged in their father’s occupation in-stead of attending school. While two of the family’s four children were already enrolled in school, the other two had remained out of the education system.
The Collector immediately directed District Welfare Offi-cer Milka to take necessary ac-tion. Following his instructions, officials of the District Welfare Department and the Integrated Child De-velopment Services (ICDS) counselled the parents on the importance of education.
Sunitha was subsequently admitted to Class VI at the Zilla Parishad High School, Indervelli, while Sunil was en-rolled in Class V at the Mandal Parishad Primary School, In-dervelli.
Speaking on the occasion, the Collector said the district administration is working in coordination to ensure that there are no out-of-school chil-dren or child labourers in the district. He said every child has the right to education and appealed to parents to send their children to school regularly to secure their future.
He also urged the public to report cases of out-of-school children or child labour by calling Child Helpline 1098 so that timely action can be taken to safeguard children’s rights and ensure their education.
